Citizens Bank & Trust Celebrates 18th Anniversary with Inaugural Citizens Week

Citizens Bank & Trust celebrated its eighteen-year anniversary on March 3, 2021. Employees celebrated all week long as they participated in a friendly competition with coworkers.

President and CEO, Charlie Williams said, “We are excited to celebrate another year of serving our customers throughout North Alabama and we’re thankful for the successes of the past 18 years. We’re eager to continue growing and increasing the value for our shareholders and serving our customers well. Citizens Week allowed our Bank family to celebrate where we’ve been and where we’re going while having some fun along the way as a Bank family, something I think we all needed.”

The Citizens Brand Ambassadors, made up of representatives from operations departments and each of the Bank’s eight locations, planned festivities for each day of Citizens Week. Divided into 8 teams, Citizens Bankers could earn points for his/her team by participating in festivities including dress-up days, reciting the Bank’s core values, and engaging with the Bank on social media platforms.

Marketing Officer, Kasey Culbert added, “Last year was a tough year on everyone, bankers included. Since we weren’t going to be able to bring employees together in March for our annual employee meeting which typically takes place the week of the Bank’s anniversary, we had to get more creative with our celebration this year. It was a good way to shake off 2020 and just share a few laughs at the Bank during this exciting time for Citizens, plus we love a good competition around here.”

The team with the most points at the end of Citizens Week won the opportunity to select a charity which would be the recipient of a $1,000 donation from the Bank. Ultimately, Team Green took home the win, and elected the Marshall Cancer Care Center as their charity of choice. The donation was made in honor of Robin Ponder, a fellow Citizens Banker, who has been the beneficiary of the services and care that the center provides to our area.
