Citizens Bank & Trust Aggie Branch Opening at Albertville High School in August

Citizens Bank & Trust will open the Aggie Branch, located in Albertville High School, beginning this school year.

“Citizens Bank & Trust is committed to advancing the financial literacy of the students in our local schools, and we are excited about our new partnership with Albertville High School,” said President and CEO, Charlie Williams. “We are thrilled about our partnership with Albertville City Schools and look forward to a great inaugural year of the Aggie Branch.”

The student-led Aggie Branch will operate on the first floor of the main building on Albertville High School’s campus and will be open during fifth period. Mrs. Stacey Turner, Business Education Teacher at AHS, will serve as school sponsor of the Aggie Branch. Traditional banking products will be available at the school branch for teachers, students, and staff. Aggie Tellers will take deposits, cash checks, and handle cash withdrawals.

“The opening of the Citizens Bank & Trust Aggie Branch is an exciting day for Albertville High School,” said Jordan Phillips, Principal at AHS. “The impact of this strong community partnership will greatly benefit our students as they learn how to manage their finances through real-life experiences while also serving the Bank’s customers on campus. AHS students will also have the opportunity to explore a career in the financial industry as they work with Citizens Bank & Trust as student tellers.”

Student Tellers underwent a formal interview process and will gain valuable work experience and receive financial education along the way. Student Tellers will attend training in July at the Bank’s main office, located in Guntersville. Students selected for the inaugural group of Aggie Tellers are Tillman P., Sarah M., Amiah M., Daniela R., Lukas C., Jacob L., Stella S., Nick R., Evan P., Michael B., Esmeralda R., and Zach D. The Aggie Branch will open on Monday August 15. A ribbon cutting is scheduled for the same day.

This is the second school branch implemented by Citizens Bank & Trust. The Citizens Wildcat Branch at Guntersville High School opened in 2015 and the Cubcat Branches, located in Guntersville Elementary and Cherokee Elementary, soon followed.
