Who is your Banker?
Have you ever given much thought to knowing your Bank and/or your Banker?

Perhaps you aren’t even sure who “your Banker” is. Perhaps it’s a teller, someone you see on occasion when you make deposits. Perhaps it’s a lender – what I, a “non-banker” banker if that can be true, tend to think of when I think of a Banker.

Maybe it’s a person in a call center that you call anytime you have a question or need regarding your account. Or, maybe the closest thing you have to a Banker is electronic… via an app or website.

If we aren't currently your Bank, we love an opportunity to change that.

Pleased to meet you!
Hello! I have the pleasure of introducing us. We are Citizens Bank & Trust. A locally-owned, locally managed Bank nestled right near beautiful Lake Guntersville in Marshall County, Alabama. Did you notice? I emphasized locally-owned, locally managed.

True community banks build the communities in which they are located. They are an integral part of Main Street and reinvest local dollars back into the community. That’s the key. That’s the Big Difference™. You aren’t just a number. You’re a customer, a name, a relationship. Decisions are made right here in the very offices and rooms that are down the hall from me now. All operations departments, yes, even our Customer Solutions Center, are right here at 711 Gunter Avenue.

We work to be more than a place that makes loans and takes deposits, but rather, an integral part of the communities we serve.

Now, by the same token, we strive to provide great products to our customers - it's seriously hard to beat Kasasa Cash Back® checking.

Additionally, we aim to not only provide great service, but also the technology our customers want to meet their financial management needs. Mobile and online banking, of course. P2P payments, you betcha - check out Easy Pay. Apple, Google, Samsung Pay? You better believe it. Ability to turn a Citizens debit card on/off with one click? That’s a must these days. Check out SecurLOCK™ Equip

On top of the benefits of community banking and great tech, we make giving back a priority too. Stay tuned for a post about our employee volunteer program, “Spirit of Citizens”.

About the blog.
Now that we’re acquainted – and you’re still reading me,yay! – let me give you a bit on the purpose of our blog.

It’s 2019, I’m a 33-year-old (barely) millennial, and I know making connections and building community has never been more important, especially to a community bank.

While our office traffic is still very busy – unlike many other banks – we want to continue to build relationships and project our culture, our DNA if you will, into the communities we serve, something that can be a challenge at times with regulation.

But, I’m not here to place blame. I’m here to connect our Bank with our communities. This medium is another way that we as a Bank can do just that. Now, we promise not to be boring, but rather, informative and/or entertaining (Stay tuned for some #cbtfamily recipes just in time for the holiday season!).

We want to include things like, “How to fill out a FAFSA” (I’m sure glad I had help with that when I was in college, sheesh), and “How do I protect my information online”, or highlights of various community events of which we are a part. You’ll get to hear from other Bankers who are part of the Citizens Bank & Trust family too. Don’t worry, it won’t be me all the time but you’ll definitely be hearing from me again soon.

So, you’ve made it to the end, thanks for stopping by and remember, bank local.
